Sunday SEND Surgery - Pathological Demand Avoidance/Persistent Drive for Autonomy

Live Parent and Carer Q&A

Feeling stuck with how to support your child with PDA? You're not alone.

Join additional needs, neurodivergence and mental health consultant Denise Snook for a live, interactive online PDA Sunday SEND Surgery.

This one-hour webinar gives parents and carers the opportunity to ask questions about Pathological Demand Avoidance/Persistent Drive for Autonomy in a supportive, practical and evidence-informed environment.

Submit your questions in advance, then join the live session as Denise answers as many as possible, sharing strategies, guidance and practical ideas that you can put into practice straight away. You'll also benefit from hearing the questions and experiences of other families facing similar challenges.

This session is ideal for parents and carers of children who:

  • Experience a strong need for autonomy and control

  • Find everyday demands, expectations or requests difficult to manage

  • Experience high levels of anxiety when they feel pressured or demands are placed upon them

  • May use avoidance, negotiation, distraction, withdrawal or other strategies to regain a sense of control

  • Need approaches that reduce pressure, increase autonomy and work with their individual needs rather than relying on traditional behaviour strategies.

Your ticket includes:

  • One-hour live online webinar via Zoom.

  • Opportunity to submit questions before the event.

  • Live answers to parent and carer questions, if there is time

  • Practical, evidence-based advice and strategies.

  • Access for one household using a single ticket.

Date: Sunday 23rd August 2026
